Know Ourselves features the life and work of 46 Belizean creatives and artists. The 116 page book was developed with research and contributions by Katie Numi Usher, Ingrid Cayetano, Ilona Smiling and Briheda Haylock.

Choosing these four women as contributors was intentional. Their insights are grounded in years of making, experimenting, organizing, teaching, and building community. They represent the many women who have shaped—and continue to shape—Belize’s creative imagination.

The choices of the 46 women featured in these pages are powerful, outstanding creative persons. Their selection reflects our diverse intentions, research methods, and lived experiences.
