"Magic happens when we spell together!"
During the 1980s, Bowen & Bowen, Ltd, Authorized Bottlers of Coca-Cola, sponsored a clever under-the-cap promotion strategically geared towards education. It caught on quickly, and parents and children were hunting the marked bottle crowns for prizes. The Back-to-School initiative turned into 25+ years of Bowen & Bowen’s National Spelling Bee. The concept of the Spelling Bee was and will always be to make learning fun for the kids.
The tournament’s integrity, confidentiality, and transparency have remained impeccable over the last twenty-five years, and it continues to keep its reputation as quality “edutainment.” Bowen & Bowen remains the primary supporter of the contest, with the Ministry of Education as our partner.
