Barranco, Toledo 1979 by Joseph Palacio

Joseph Palacio is a Garifuna Belizean anthropologist, who served as Belize’s Archaeological Commissioner from 1971-1976.  A leading promoter of Garifuna language, history, and culture,  he earned his PhD in Anthropology from the University of California-Berkeley in 1982. The 1979 photos in this collection form part of his extensive research.
