Rootlines and Imagination
In 2018, three high school teachers embarked on a groundbreaking mission: to create comprehensive educational tools that resonate with students and deepen understanding of Belizean history and culture. Through meticulous research, thoughtful writing, and innovative design, they crafted two books. “Rootlines,” focuses on African and Maya history, emphasizing the importance of understanding the past for a liberated future. The second book chronicles Belize’s history from the early 1500s to Independence in 1981, highlighting the struggle against enslavement and colonialism.
